Well if i we're a betting man.. I would put money on Cellulose!

Oh yes, it’s true! We've had a battery of tests issued on some of our eco friendly panels through Riverbank Acoustic Laboratories and confirmed that Cellulose based insulation has an even higher absorption coefficient than standard insulation material on low frequencies. Not only is it more eco-friendly, it also outperforms its fiberglass and mineral wool counterparts, hands down. ACOUSTIMAC’S ECOUSTIMAC products use Cellulose insulation for its eco-friendly acoustic panels and are a very GREEN solution for acoustical installations.

Also, IT DOESNT IRRITATE YOUR SKIN AT ALL!! Totally user friendly! Our staff loves working with it.

I hate handling fiberglass... the itch drives me nuts.. i would definitely see why your crew likes it better..
but how is it that cellulose stuff is as good as fiberglass? Wouldn't it be more widely used?
Personally i dont know much about it, i didnt even think it could be used for acoustics..

Hiya Ben.
Actually it's been around a while.. biggest reason it isn't as widely used as fiberglass is that it's a little more expensive.
The demand for it isn't as high as fiberglass.. so it's been in a niche market for years..

However with the recent push for green standards in new buildings, the demand for the material has increased making it more affordable than ever.
Bass traps loaded with acoustimac's eco friendly insulation tested with absorption coefficients better than those of fiberglass.

Well, mostly it's because folks don't know about it, and find it hard to believe when you tell them..
But check out the results yourself on our site, compare the coefficiencies for the eco bass traps to the ones for the regular fiberglass traps.
Even the scale is adjusted for the eco traps since it can absorb even lower frequencies than the fiberglass models.

So far, it's the best core there is for bass traps!
